Upcoming Topics: Looking for Discussion
by Hbomb on May.05, 2010, under Podcasts
I know we haven’t been the most consistent in updating due to our schedules, but we have come up with a solution. E*Master and I have decided to record specials and save them for gaps between shows. Each special will feature the two of us and 1-2 guest hosts in a roundtable topic with feedback from our listeners sprinkled in. To contribute, you can e-mail us at feedback@crossbordergaming.com, PM the CBG Twitter account, or comment to this post. We would also welcome audio clips- either e-mail them direct (if they’re small) or send me a link to where I can download it.
Anyway, here are our upcoming topics:
Improving the Series: Pokemon: Pokemon has become a trusted gaming brand, but it hasn’t changed too much since its inception. What features would you like to add to the next game? What would you like to see in an upcoming Pokemon game?
Improving the Series: Guitar Hero & Rock Band: Harmonix has announced Rock Band 3. Guitar Hero 6 is inevitable. What new features would you like to see in the next generation of these music games? Is there something that one series added that you would like to see in the other? Is there a new instrument you’d like to see? What music would you like to see?
2D and the Retro Rebirth Hits like “Mega Man 9″, “New Super Mario Bros. Wii”, and “Pac-Man Championship Edition” have returned old franchises to their roots. In addition, new IPs, such as “Cave Story” and “Shadow Complex” have also been influenced by this retro rebirth. What are your favorite “new retro” games, and what classic franchises would you like to see given this treatment?
Gaming BargainsWhat is your best gaming deal? Where do you find your bargains? Share your best game shopping stories with us.
Making Friends With Gaming Has your console brought people together? Have you made new friends by sharing your love of video games on the Internet? Please share your stories with us.
Thank you for your participation. Also, if you have any additional suggestions for topics, please share with us as well.

Autism Walk- I need your help!
by Hbomb on Oct.15, 2009, under Uncategorized
For those who don’t know, every year I participate my the local Walk Now for Autism. The walk on November 7 will be the 6th walk I have participated in. I have been working with autistic children since 2005. I see parents struggle with their children’s disabilities, and I walk to help these kids and their families and to hopefully come up with a cause and prevention for autism. (I hate the use of the word “cure” given the nature of the condition.)
Also, in 2006, at the age of 27, I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, which is on the upper end of the autism spectrum. Prior to that, I always knew there was something different about me. I had trouble making friends and fitting in. I realize that I’m a lot luckier than others on the spectrum, being able to carry on a (relatively) normal life, but it is still a condition I wish for no one.
If you wish to donate, you can do it here. Those who have supported me in the past, I appreciate you. Those who haven’t, I hope you will. This cause is very important to my heart, and I hope you will find in yours to help out. (And if you can’t financially, don’t feel bad. The economy sucks.)
Thank you.

And here’s all the stats and stuff:
Please join me in my fight to make a difference in the lives of the more than 1 million Americans living with autism today.
I am participating in Walk Now for Autism to help find a cure for autism. Autism is the second most common developmental disorder in the United States affecting one in every 150 children born today. Despite some promising discoveries, the cause of autism is unknown and a cure does not exist. Research is crucial. Every 20 minutes another child is diagnosed with autism. Not only must we find ways to improve the quality of life for children and adults with autism, but we also must find a cure, and soon.
Walk Now for Autism is our chance to make a difference in the fight against autism by raising money for autism research and heightening public awareness. Please join me in my fight as I raise money to help fund essential research. You can donate to Walk Now for Autism and/or join my team online using the links here. Donations can also be mailed to Autism Speaks using the donation form located on my page or send me a check made out to Autism Speaks.
Thank you for taking an important step in the fight against autism.
Donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Hbomb- King of the Internet
by Hbomb on May.29, 2009, under Podcast Shoutouts, Podcasts
Well, a couple shows back, I reported that I sent an audio clip to A Life Well Wasted for their Episode 3 B-side “Why We Game”. Well, the B-side is up, and I’m in it.
Also, I mentioned (or will mention) in episode 7 about sending an e-mail to Rebel FM relating to my rant from episode 6 regarding usage of the word “retarded”. It has made it into their episode 20.
Both Rebel FM and A Life Well Wasted are available on iTunes. GBG#7 shall be up…. well, I guess that’s up to E*Master.
CBG#5 recording 5/11, CBG #6 in planning
by Hbomb on May.10, 2009, under Podcasts
Delays happen, and this time the actual recording of the podcast has been pushed back. Anyway, we are recording tomorrow (5/11) at about 3:30 pm ET. Our Big Rant discussion topic is games as platforms, i.e. Burnout Paradise, Rock Band, and GTA IV. Anyway, if you would like to comment on the topic, or anything we talked about last week, please e-mail (feedback@crossbordergaming.com), Twitter, or comment to this post before 3:30 PM ET.
As for #6, I’m going to open up the discussion now. Our Big Rant topic will be “Can the iPhone/iPod Touch take down Nintendo in the handheld market?” Please start e-mailing/Twittering/commenting now, as it may be a short turnaround between the release of #5 and the recording of #6. In addition, we are also open to discussion topics for #7, which we will hope to have you when we record #6.
Thanx. H out!
Podcast Delayed
by Hbomb on Apr.19, 2009, under Podcasts, Uncategorized
E*Master partied a little too hard in celebrating his birthday. Podcast will be up…. eventually.
EDIT by E*Master: Considering this is our shortest Podcast it also appears to be the one that is the biggest pain in the @$$ to edit. Audacity has crashed twice with my work not only having been half way done but lost twice.
Save the project you say? I did… twice… tells me it’s corrupted or freezes upon load. Gonna try again in the morning and HOPEFULLY unless more acts of god happen, have it up before lunch time EST. I think My PC knows that it is getting a hardware overhaul this and refuses to to go without a fight. *Ugh*
